Andrea Martin

Andrea is a consultant to the firm's Media Group. She worked as an in-house lawyer for a number of years with RTÉ, Ireland's principal State broadcaster before returning to private practice. Andrea advises on all aspects of law relevant to broadcast, print and new media publication and regulation including defamation, privacy, contempt and court reporting, regulatory complaints, copyright, talent contracts, production finance, copyright, book and music publishing contracts, music collection societies, performer's rights and image protection.  She has extensive experience in media-related defence litigation.

Andrea has advised on the production of cutting-edge documentary television series including the ground-breaking States of Fear (RTÉ, 1999), "Haughey" (Mint Productions for RTÉ, 2005), Rip Off Republic (Independent Pictures for RTÉ, 2005), "Bertie" (Mint Productions for RTÉ, 2008), "Customs" (Open Eye Productions for RTÉ, 2008), "Traffic Blues" (Big Mountain Productions for RTÉ, 2009). She provides pre-publication advice on the content of politically and legally sensitive publications for publishers in Ireland and the UK. Andrea is a regular contributor to radio and television discussions on media law matters. She guest-lectures at third level colleges and Universities throughout Ireland as well as delivering practical training programmes in media law to RTÉ, TG4 and the Irish commercial radio sector.
