Banter and bias in the workplace

Maura Connolly, Partner and Head of Employment and Employee Benefits at Eugene F Collins was pleased to take part in a presentation on banter and bias in the workplace for White Paper Conferences.
In this video, Maura focuses on the Irish law relating to how to manage potential claims of discrimination, including unconscious bias and situations where the resolution should be carried out through a formal or informal process. Maura also outlines measures employers can put in place to counter bias in the workplace. This includes:
- Developing effective policies suitable for your work environment
- Training managers how to use these policies
- Ensuring policies are well known throughout the organisation
- Awareness of principles of fair procedure
